To receive a continuance, you must speak with the Court Clerk/Magistrate prior to the court date.

Some traffic violations may be paid prior to the court date. If applicable, payments may be made in person during regular business hours, by mail, by phone or online. Acceptable payment methods are cash, money order, certified check, Visa, Mastercard or Discover card. No personal checks accepted.

If paying in person, a guilty plea must be signed prior to processing the payment. The guilty plea is located on the back of the traffic citation or one can be printed for you at the time of payment. Anyone may bring the signed guilty plea and pay for you but only you can sign the guilty plea itself.

Receipts for payments made by mail will not be sent unless a self- addressed stamped envelope is enclosed with your payment.
If paying with a debit/credit card, you must pay in person, by phone @ 256-290-1222 or online at You will need to have the citation number in order to access the online or pay by phone option. Note: a processing fee of 4 ½ % will be added when paying with a debit/credit card.
